You don’t have to do life alone. We all need connections, community and support. That’s true for seniors just like any other age group. The Sunbury community has much to offer to help seniors thrive — and the Community Senior Fest is all about connecting you with those neighbors and resources!
If you’re experiencing hunger or difficulty finding nutritious food or dietary information, come and meet us July 8. Sunbury UMC is partnering with Mid-Ohio Food Collective to provide monthly Senior Boxes (food boxes) for eligible seniors who sign up. You can also learn more about other resources and information available through Mid-Ohio Food Collective (*equal opportunity provider).
You can also learn about healthcare resources and inquire about free health screenings, for your physical, mental and emotional health needs. Come meet representatives from Delaware Public Health District, National Alliance on Mental Health Illness (NAMI), Athletico Physical Therapy, Delaware Speech and Hearing Center, NovaCare Rehabilitation, and local dental, vision, & physician offices.
Avoid loneliness and isolation and/or support your active lifestyle. Meet some pets who need a home, courtesy of Humane Society of Delaware County. Visit with Connections Volunteer Center to find volunteer or service opportunities you’d enjoy. Pursue higher learning through Ohio Wesleyan University’s Lifelong Learning Institute.
Learn about senior living options from The Inn at Walnut Trail and Country View Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. You can also learn safety tips and meet some of our first responders from BST and G Fire District and the Delaware County Sheriff’s Office.
We’ll also have experts there to help you learn about financial planning and insurance resources. And more!
