Your children are welcome at Sunbury UMC. We enjoy connecting kids to the love of Jesus!
Children’s Spiritual Development
We want children to grow in safe, loving community where they can find joy and experience the love Jesus has for them.
Jesus said, “Let the children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these.” [Matthew 19:14]
We invite you to explore our children’s activities and ministry opportunities for your child. Come and join us Sundays or any time! You can also contact Deb Layton our children’s ministry leader, for more information.
Nursery & Childcare
You can leave your child in good care while you attend worship service.
Find us in the hallway right across from the sanctuary. We’re close by and easy to find!

Children’s Sunday School
We offer Sunday school for children pre-K (potty-trained) through sixth grade. Kids learn Bible lessons through art, science, food, music, games and much more.
Children’s Sunday School it at 9:00 am in our education hall. Our usual rooms is 5. You’ll know you’re there when you see the decorated portion of the hallway!
Kids will gather each week with a teacher and volunteers. We offer many fun ways to learn about God’s amazing love!
Children are a gift from the Lord; they are a reward from him.
Psalm 127:3
Vacation Bible School
Every June, we gather for a fun-packed packed four days of Vacation Bible School (VBS). Your child is welcome – and we are sure they will have a good time!
At VBS we learn about Jesus and the Bible through fun, interactive lessons and activities. In late April or early May, check our events page for dates and information. Or contact us anytime. We’d love to hear from you!

Fun for kids in the community
Vacation Bible School and children’s Sunday school are always open to guests. We also host several family-friendly events throughout the year. We love hosting engaging activities like yard games, petting zoos, crafts, sports, and more! Come to our Christmas and Easter season events and you’ll likely find special guests like Santa. Summer and harvest season events are sure to have lots of outdoor activities.
